My Aim when I started making this website was to create something new which may help the implementation of CBME in medical education in a unique way and may help in improving the medical education in my speciality ie Orthopedics

A list of the comptencies has been prepared and made available to us by the MCI. So the unique number for each competency is well defined and the orthopedics competencies have been included by me in the competency listing

During the next phase my aim will be to gather all the learning objectives in all competency from vast network to medical education experts and stalwarts in the respective competency through this online platform and make it available to all medical teachers to improve the level of medical education in their respective colleges. All the contributors will be duly acknowledged as their name will appear with that comptency and a click will take to all the posts they have written

It was a huge task to change the formatting and accesibilty of data through website designing. I have input my existing computer knowlege and gather new skills during lockdown to make this website a success

I am highly thankful to the Principal of our institute, Dr Rajiv Mahajan who was the sole inspiration behind the designing of this website. He is also an inspiration for hard work and a role model for anyone who wants to achieve success. The input he put in to turning the institute into an online portal for medical learning during the lockdown period is really commendable. His vision is really distinct

I am especially highly thankful to my wife Dr Sandeep Kaur who is Professor and Head Physiology in this college itself who helped me make this dream into a reality. Utilising her vast knowledge of medical education she has being a FAIMER fellow. This task would not have been possible without her guidance

I am thankful to Late Gurmanjot Singh Kular who left his great medical dreams unfulfilled and in whose memory I took the initiative to complete his work he had already started. His painful memories kept me awake to complete this website

I am also thankful to the Medical Education Unit of our institute for organising time to time workshops in our institute

The medical education guidelines from CMC Ludhiana is worth mentioning which is a big motivation to participate in raising the standards pf medical education

In my next plan I would like to take the help of medical education stalwarts, I may not be aware of all but a few of whom I came in contact with like Dr Tejinder Singh, Dr Dinesh Badyal.

Listening to them I gathered a picture in my mind that the teaching will be competency based in future and we have to ourselves frame the learning objectives in each competency, divide the compencies over the time period of learning and to teach the students in a way with our teaching learning methods and different assessment till they achieve the desired competencies

My aim is to help in the project to implement the competency based learning as per new guidelines from MCI in letter and spirit during my unique effort in making the design of this website

Taking the things further I decided that why not divide the huge project of framing the objectives of each competency over medical teachers of whole of India, and then gather and publish them and make available to all

It will serve many benefits:

Instead of framing huge number of objectives by each institute which will be available to that institute only, by this design one teacher can focus his whole energy and vision in desgning the learning objectives, teaching learning methods and assessmethod for a single or afew comptencies. The inputs can be clubbed and made available to all the medical teachers

This way we can get the best design of each competency with particular recognition for the author of that competency design

One thing learned from COVID 19 is that the learning objectives cannot differ much between different geographical areas as we have seen that a disease originating in one country soon becomes a global concern due to fast means of communication

Some differnce in learning objectives from one place to other can be taken care of by stressing more of those competencies but the model for THE INDIAN MEDICAL GRADUATE remains the same

I have realized that it is a very powerful tool I have started gathering and listing other subjects competencies so that I be of some help to the whole medical college and my fellow teachers. So I am in the process of creating a site with all the subjects competencies with interlinked hyperlinks for complete integration among the different subjects

I have also realized that it will of help to my whole country as it can be available to all and for its development I need lots of more efforts from volunteer in the field of medical education

I hope that by this sharing platform we can further improve the standards of medical education.

My vision is to make this website a role model/ platform for future medical education
